Domestic Abuse
Domestic abuse can manifest in many ways but is typically defined as being a pattern of abusive behaviour where the abuser exerts power and control over the victim.
Domestic abuse can be:-
- Physical or sexual
- Financial/economic
- Mental
- Coercive (namely a pattern of intimidation, manipulation, degradation, isolation and control).
If you are experiencing or feel at risk of domestic violence, we can help you. We can assist in reporting matters to the police, seek Court Orders to protect you and your family (including non-molestation orders and occupation orders) and can help you seek support/ guidance and help from experienced third parties including domestic violence consultants.
We have experience helping clients in high conflict cases and making (or defending) emergency applications – often at the outset of proceedings relating to separation.
